هنأ رئيس الاتحاد الدولي لكرة القدم (FIFA) جياني إنفانتينو، الاتحاد العراقي بتأهل منتخبهم إلى كأس العالم 2026، عقب فوزهم 2-1 على بوليفيا في نهائي الملحق العالمي، خلال المباراة التي أقيمت في مدينة مونتيري بالمكسيك. وقال إنفانتينو في مقطع مصور بثه عبر حسابه الرسمي في موقع التواصل الاجتماعي «إنستغرام»:«يا له من إنجاز كبير ومذهل للعراق، أبارك لكم على حجز مكانكم في كأس العالم لأول مرة منذ 1986، والمرة الثانية في تاريخكم»، وأضاف: «نحن سعداء بعودة العراق مجدداً في أكبر محفل كروي».
وهذه المرة الثانية التي يتأهل فيها المنتخب العراقي إلى كأس العالم، بعد نسخة مونديال 1986 بالمكسيك، وتابع: «هذا الإنجاز سيلهم جيلاً جديداً من اللاعبين الشبان والجماهير العراقية لتطوير اللعبة في بلدكم ونتطلع لمشاهدتكم في كأس العالم 2026».
وسيواجه العراقيون منتخبات فرنسا والسنغال والنرويج في منافسات المجموعة التاسعة التي تعتبر من أصعب المجموعات في المونديال.
The President of the International Football Federation (FIFA), Gianni Infantino, congratulated the Iraqi federation on their national team’s qualification for the 2026 World Cup, following their 2-1 victory over Bolivia in the global playoff final, during the match held in Monterrey, Mexico. Infantino said in a video clip broadcast on his official social media account on Instagram: “What a great and amazing achievement for Iraq, congratulations on securing your place in the World Cup for the first time since 1986, and the second time in your history.” He added: “We are happy to see Iraq back again in the biggest football event.”
This is the second time the Iraqi national team has qualified for the World Cup, after the 1986 tournament in Mexico. He continued: “This achievement will inspire a new generation of young players and Iraqi fans to develop the game in your country, and we look forward to seeing you in the 2026 World Cup.”
The Iraqis will face teams from France, Senegal, and Norway in Group 9, which is considered one of the toughest groups in the World Cup.
