برئاسة وزير الرياضة رئيس الاتحاد الرياضي للتضامن الإسلامي الأمير عبدالعزيز بن تركي الفيصل، تستضيف محافظة الطائف خلال الفترة من 11 إلى 13 سبتمبر الجاري أعمال الجمعية العمومية الـ15 للاتحاد، والاجتماعين الـ45 والـ46 لمجلس إدارة الاتحاد الرياضي للتضامن الإسلامي، بمشاركة ممثلي 57 دولة ونخبة من القيادات الرياضية في العالم الإسلامي.
وتكتسب الجمعية العمومية أهمية خاصة كونها تشهد انتخاب مجلس إدارة الاتحاد للدورة الجديدة 2026-2029، في محطة جديدة من مسيرة الاتحاد الهادفة إلى تطوير العمل الرياضي المشترك وتعزيز حضور الرياضة كأداة للتقارب والتعاون بين الدول الأعضاء.
ورش عمل
تنطلق أعمال الاجتماعات يوم 11 سبتمبر بإقامة عدد من ورش العمل التي تتناول برامج الاتحاد ومبادراته الإستراتيجية، وتتيح لممثلي الدول الأعضاء مناقشة البرامج والمشروعات المرتبطة بتطوير الرياضة ودعم الرياضيين وتعزيز الشراكات بين اللجان الأولمبية الوطنية.
الانتخابات
ويشهد يوم 12 سبتمبر اجتماع مجلس إدارة الاتحاد قبل انعقاد الجمعية العمومية الـ15، التي تتضمن انتخاب مجلس الإدارة الجديد للدورة 2026-2029، وسط مشاركة واسعة من الدول الأعضاء ونخبة من القيادات الرياضية في العالم الإسلامي.
المهام الجديدة
ويخصص اليوم الختامي 13 سبتمبر لاجتماع لجنة الرياضيين، إلى جانب برنامج تعريفي لأعضاء مجلس الإدارة المنتخب حول مهام الاتحاد وبرامجه وخططه المستقبلية.
وكان الاتحاد قد أعلن قائمة المرشحين لعضوية مجلس الإدارة الجديد، والتي تضم عدداً من الشخصيات الرياضية الدولية من مختلف مناطق العالم الإسلامي، في إطار حرصه على تمثيل جغرافي متوازن وتعزيز مشاركة المرأة والرياضيين في منظومة صنع القرار.
ويمثل الاتحاد الرياضي للتضامن الإسلامي مظلة رياضية تجمع 57 دولة، ويعمل على دعم الرياضيين وتطوير الرياضة في الدول الأعضاء من خلال البرامج والمشروعات والمبادرات المشتركة، إلى جانب تنظيم دورة ألعاب التضامن الإسلامي كل أربعة أعوام.
مهرجان ولي العهد للهجن
وتتزامن استضافة الجمعية العمومية مع الأجواء الرياضية والتراثية التي تعيشها محافظة الطائف هذه الأيام باحتضانها مهرجان ولي العهد للهجن في نسخته الثامنة، أحد أبرز الأحداث الرياضية والتراثية في المملكة، والذي جمع على أرض الطائف نخبة ملاك الهجن والمضمرين والمهتمين بهذه الرياضة من داخل المملكة وخارجها.
ويعكس تزامن الحدثين حجم الحراك الرياضي الذي تشهده الطائف، إذ تجمع في أيام واحدة بين رياضة الهجن بموروثها الوطني وحضورها المتنامي، وبين قيادات وممثلي 57 دولة إسلامية يناقشون مستقبل العمل الرياضي المشترك.
وتأتي استضافة الطائف للجمعية العمومية في ظل هذا الحراك الرياضي الكبير الذي تشهده المحافظة، بما يعزز حضورها كوجهة لاستضافة الفعاليات والاجتماعات الرياضية الدولية، ويجسد المكانة المتقدمة التي باتت تحتلها المملكة في قيادة وتنظيم الأحداث الرياضية على المستويين الإسلامي والدولي.
Under the presidency of the Minister of Sports and President of the Islamic Solidarity Sports Federation, Prince Abdulaziz bin Turki Al-Faisal, the city of Taif will host the 15th General Assembly of the Federation from September 11 to 13, with the participation of representatives from 57 countries and a selection of sports leaders from the Islamic world.
The General Assembly holds special significance as it will witness the election of the Federation’s Board of Directors for the new term 2026-2029, marking a new phase in the Federation’s journey aimed at developing joint sports work and enhancing the role of sports as a tool for rapprochement and cooperation among member states.
Workshops
The meetings will commence on September 11 with a series of workshops addressing the Federation’s programs and strategic initiatives, allowing representatives of member states to discuss programs and projects related to the development of sports, support for athletes, and the enhancement of partnerships among national Olympic committees.
Election
On September 12, the Board of Directors of the Federation will meet before the 15th General Assembly, which will include the election of the new Board of Directors for the term 2026-2029, with broad participation from member states and a selection of sports leaders from the Islamic world.
New Tasks
The final day, September 13, is dedicated to the meeting of the Athletes’ Committee, along with an introductory program for the elected Board members regarding the Federation’s tasks, programs, and future plans.
The Federation had announced the list of candidates for the new Board of Directors, which includes several international sports figures from various regions of the Islamic world, reflecting its commitment to balanced geographical representation and enhancing the participation of women and athletes in the decision-making process.
The Islamic Solidarity Sports Federation represents a sports umbrella uniting 57 countries, working to support athletes and develop sports in member states through joint programs, projects, and initiatives, in addition to organizing the Islamic Solidarity Games every four years.
Crown Prince Camel Festival
The hosting of the General Assembly coincides with the sports and heritage atmosphere currently experienced in Taif, which is hosting the eighth edition of the Crown Prince Camel Festival, one of the most prominent sports and heritage events in the Kingdom, gathering elite camel owners, trainers, and enthusiasts from within and outside the Kingdom.
The coincidence of these two events reflects the extent of the sports movement in Taif, bringing together the sport of camels with its national heritage and growing presence, alongside leaders and representatives from 57 Islamic countries discussing the future of joint sports work.
The hosting of the General Assembly in Taif comes amid this significant sports movement in the province, enhancing its presence as a destination for hosting international sports events and meetings, and embodying the advanced position that the Kingdom has come to occupy in leading and organizing sports events at both the Islamic and international levels.
