شهد اللقاء بداية قوية لفريق أتلتيكو الذي تمكن من التقدم مبكراً، إذ جاء الهدف الأول بطريق الخطأ من مدافع برشلونة إريك غارسيا بعد إعادته الكرة للحارس جوان غارسيا ولكنه لم يسيطر عليها لتذهب للمرمى كهدف أول لأتلتيكو (د: 6)، وضاعف الفرنسي أنطوان غريزمان النتيجة لفريق أتلتيكو بإحرازه الهدف الثاني (د: 14)، وكاد برشلونة أن يعود للقاء بتسديدة فيرمين لوبيس ولكن كرته ارتطمت بالعارضة، وأضاع الأرجنتيني خوليان ألفاريس هدفاً محققاً لأتلتيكو عندما سدد الكرة نحو المرمى الخالي ولكن يقظة المدافع جول كونديه حالت دون ذلك، ولكن سرعان ما سجل أتلتيكو الهدف الثالث عن طريق أديمولا لوكمان (د: 30)، واختتم خوليان الفاريس مسلسل الأهداف بإحرازه الهدف الرابع (د: 45+2)، وفي الشوط الثاني أحرز برشلونة هدفاً عن طريق باو كوبارسي، ولكن بعد العودة لتقنية الفيديو وبعد مراجعة دامت 5 دقائق تم إلغاء الهدف بداعي التسلل، وتحصل لاعب برشلونة أليكس غارسيا على البطاقة الحمراء (د: 85)، لينتهي اللقاء بفوز أتلتيكو مدريد بـ4 أهداف دون مقابل.
وسيلتقي الفريقان مجدداً الثلاثاء القادم على ملعب كامب نو، وستكون المهمة شبه مستحيلة لحامل اللقب فريق برشلونة للوصول للمباراة النهائية.
Barcelona’s team suffered a heavy defeat at the hands of their hosts Atletico Madrid, losing 4-0 in the first leg of the Copa del Rey semi-final, increasing their struggles ahead of the return leg next Tuesday.
The match witnessed a strong start from Atletico, who managed to take an early lead. The first goal came accidentally from Barcelona defender Eric Garcia, who returned the ball to goalkeeper Juan Garcia, but he failed to control it, resulting in an own goal for Atletico (6th minute). Frenchman Antoine Griezmann doubled Atletico’s lead by scoring the second goal (14th minute). Barcelona nearly made a comeback with a shot from Firmin Lopez, but his effort hit the crossbar. Argentine Julian Alvarez missed a clear opportunity for Atletico when he shot the ball towards the empty net, but vigilant defender Jules Kounde prevented it. However, Atletico quickly scored the third goal through Ademola Lookman (30th minute), and Julian Alvarez capped off the scoring spree by netting the fourth goal (45+2 minute). In the second half, Barcelona scored a goal through Pau Koubarsi, but after a review lasting 5 minutes with the video assistant referee, the goal was disallowed for offside. Barcelona player Alex Garcia received a red card (85th minute), ending the match with Atletico Madrid winning 4-0.
The two teams will meet again next Tuesday at Camp Nou, and it will be an almost impossible task for the defending champions, Barcelona, to reach the final.
