On a night that showcased the fragrance of history and the brilliance of the written word, the Thaqat Cultural Club in Medina, in collaboration with its literary partner, hosted an exceptional evening featuring the Chairman of the Saudi Journalists Association and Editor-in-Chief of Al-Jazirah newspaper, Khalid bin Hamad Al-Malik, in a rich dialogue titled “The Journalistic Experience… Pivotal Lessons for Future Generations.” He was welcomed by the club’s president, Dr. Abdulaziz Al-Arawi, and the head of the cultural committee, Dr. Amal Hamdan, amidst a large attendance of elite intellectuals and media professionals who gathered to witness the recollection of decades of experience that shaped the essence of Saudi and Gulf journalism.
Dr. Amal Hamdan moderated the dialogue, which was characterized by intellectual depth and transparency, as Al-Malik took the audience on a temporal journey, reviewing the key milestones that shaped his long professional career as one of the pillars of Arab journalism. He emphasized the sanctity of the word and the responsibility of conscious media in shaping national and cultural awareness. He also addressed the fundamental transformations that the media landscape has witnessed, offering the new generations a summary of a broad experience based on patience, precision, and professional integrity.
In a gesture of loyalty reflecting the cultural community’s appreciation for its symbols, Dr. Abdulaziz Al-Arawi presented the guest with the Thaqat honorary shield, honorary membership, and the golden medal, in addition to a bag of the club’s achievements, celebrating his extended contributions to culture and the journalistic movement. The meeting concluded with a press conference where Al-Malik answered journalists’ questions before the attendees moved to a dinner held in his honor at the Diwaniya of Sheikh Madani Al-Ahmadi, in a scene that embodied the value of the guest and the status of Medina as a cradle of thought and literature, as part of Thaqat Club’s efforts to enhance intellectual movement and establish cultural awareness in society.
