وتقدمت زاهارا بطلب لتغيير اسمها إلى «زاهارا مارلي جولي»، بينما طلب مادوكس اعتماد اسم «مادوكس شيفان جولي»، على أن تعقد جلسة النظر في طلبها يوم 28 سبتمبر القادم.
إجراءات قانونية
استوفت زاهارا متطلبات قانون ولاية كاليفورنيا بعد نشر إشعار رسمي بطلبها في صحيفة Los Angeles Daily Journal لمدة أربعة أسابيع متتالية، وهو إجراء يسبق جلسة المحكمة ويتيح تقديم أي اعتراضات قبل إصدار القرار النهائي.
وكان موقع TMZ قد كشف في وقت سابق أن زاهارا، البالغة من العمر 21 عاماً، بدأت بالفعل استخدام لقب «جولي» في مناسبات عامة منذ 2023، قبل أن تتقدم رسمياً بطلب تعديل اسمها.
خلافات عائلية
وتأتي هذه الخطوة في ظل استمرار الخلافات داخل عائلة براد بيت وأنجلينا جولي، فيما نقلت تقارير عن مصدر مقرب من براد بيت أن الأزمة مع أبنائه ترتبط بالنزاع الطويل مع جولي، بينما سبق لعدد من الأبناء استخدام لقب «جولي» فقط في مناسبات عامة، في إشارة إلى استمرار القطيعة العائلية.
