وكان قد لجأ لاعبو المنتخب الفرنسي إلى لعب الورق داخل غرفة الملابس لتمضية الوقت خلال التوقف الطويل الذي فرضته العواصف الرعدية والأمطار الغزيرة، بعدما تأخر انطلاق الشوط الثاني من مواجهة فرنسا والعراق في كأس العالم 2026 لمدة قاربت الساعتين.

فيما كشف مدرب المنتخب الفرنسي ديدييه ديشامب، عقب المباراة في تصريحات نشرها موقع «4-4-2»، أن اللاعبين حاولوا كسر حالة الانتظار الطويلة داخل غرفة الملابس، قائلاً مازحاً: «لعبنا الورق»، قبل أن يوضح أن الفريق كان ينتظر تحديثات مستمرة بشأن موعد استئناف اللقاء.
