وكان رونالدو قد تعرض لانتقادات حادة بسبب ظهوره بمستوى متواضع في تعادل البرتغال مع الكونغو الديمقراطية بنتيجة 1-1 في الجولة الافتتاحية من المونديال، لكنه رد على منتقديه بتسجيل هدفين في فوز «برازيل أوروبا» على أوزبكستان بنتيجة 5-0، أمس (الثلاثاء).
وقال رونالدو للصحفيين عقب المباراة، عندما سُئل عن إمكانية مواجهة منافسه اللدود ميسي: «لا أعرف كيف أجيب عن ذلك، لكن سيكون الأمر رائعاً».
كما رفض رونالدو الإجابة عن سؤال أحد الصحفيين بشأن رأيه في تصدر ميسي ترتيب هدافي مونديال 2026، مكتفياً بالرد بانفعال: «السؤال التالي».
مواجهة حاسمة أمام كولومبيا
ويختتم منتخب البرتغال مشواره في دور المجموعات بمواجهة كولومبيا الأحد القادم، بحثاً عن حسم صدارة المجموعة الـ11.

Ronaldo had faced sharp criticism for his modest performance in Portugal’s 1-1 draw with the Democratic Republic of Congo in the opening round of the World Cup, but he responded to his critics by scoring two goals in the “Brazil of Europe” victory over Uzbekistan with a score of 5-0 yesterday (Tuesday).
Ronaldo told reporters after the match, when asked about the possibility of facing his fierce rival Messi: “I don’t know how to answer that, but it would be great.”
Ronaldo also refused to answer a journalist’s question about his opinion on Messi leading the scoring chart of the 2026 World Cup, simply responding with irritation: “Next question.”
Crucial clash against Colombia
The Portugal national team will conclude its group stage campaign with a match against Colombia next Sunday, in search of securing the top spot in Group 11.
