بدأ مدرب المنتخب السعودي جورجيوس دونيس تحضيراته الفنية للمواجهة الودية الثانية أمام منتخب بورتوريكو السبت القادم الساعة الـ2:00 صباحاً، على ملعب Q2 في مدينة أوستن، في معسكره الاستعدادي لكأس العالم 2026، التي ستبدأ 11 يونيو في الولايات المتحدة والمكسيك وكندا. وسيواصل الأخضر تمارينه على ملاعب مركز تدريبات نادي أوستن.
من جانبه، أعلن المدرب دونيس قائمة الأخضر النهائية المشاركة في المونديال القادم، التي ضمّت 26 لاعباً، هم: محمد العويس، نواف العقيدي، أحمد الكسار، عبد الإله العمري، حسان تمبكتي، جهاد ذكري، علي لاجامي، حسن كادش، سعود عبد الحميد، محمد أبو الشامات، علي مجرشي، متعب الحربي، نواف بوشل، محمد كنو، عبد الله الخيبري، زياد الجهني، ناصر الدوسري، مصعب الجوير، علاء آل حجي، سالم الدوسري، خالد الغنام، أيمن يحيى، سلطان مندش، فراس البريكان، صالح الشهري، عبد الله الحمدان.
واستبعد المدرب اليوناني دونيس خمسة لاعبين وهم: عبد الله آل سالم، وعبد الرحمن الصانبي، وعبد القدوس عطية، وصالح أبو الشامات، وزكريا هوساوي. وسيواصل الثلاثي آل سالم، والصانبي، وعطية مشاركتهم في معسكر المنتخب السعودي، وذلك بناءً على طلب المدرب دونيس.
ويأتي ذلك الإجراء بناءً على ما تنص عليه لوائح البطولة التي تتضمن إمكانية استبدال أي لاعب مُدرج في القائمة النهائية قبل موعد المباراة الأولى للمنتخب السعودي بـ«24» ساعة، في حال تعرضه لإصابة تمنعه من لعب مباريات البطولة، كما تسمح اللوائح باستبدال حارس المرمى المصاب في أي وقت خلال فترة المشاركة في البطولة.
يُذكر أن الأخضر يأتي في المجموعة الثامنة ضمن بطولة كأس العالم FIFA 2026، إلى جانب منتخبات إسبانيا، الأوروغواي، والرأس الأخضر.
The Saudi national team coach Georgios Donis has begun his technical preparations for the second friendly match against the Puerto Rican national team next Saturday at 2:00 AM, at Q2 Stadium in Austin, as part of his training camp for the 2026 World Cup, which will start on June 11 in the United States, Mexico, and Canada. The Green Falcons will continue their training at the Austin FC training center.
For his part, Coach Donis announced the final list of the Green Falcons participating in the upcoming World Cup, which includes 26 players: Mohammed Al-Owais, Nawaf Al-Aqidi, Ahmed Al-Kassar, Abdul Ilah Al-Amri, Hassan Tambakti, Jihad Dhikri, Ali Lajami, Hassan Kadsh, Saud Abdul Hamid, Mohammed Abu Al-Shamat, Ali Majrashi, Muteb Al-Harbi, Nawaf Bushal, Mohammed Kanno, Abdullah Al-Khaibari, Ziad Al-Jahani, Nasser Al-Dosari, Musab Al-Juwair, Alaa Al-Hajji, Salem Al-Dosari, Khaled Al-Ghannam, Ayman Yahya, Sultan Mandash, Firas Al-Buraikan, Saleh Al-Shehri, Abdullah Al-Hamdan.
The Greek coach Donis excluded five players: Abdullah Al-Salem, Abdul Rahman Al-Sanbi, Abdul Quddus Atiyah, Saleh Abu Al-Shamat, and Zakaria Hawsawi. The trio Al-Salem, Al-Sanbi, and Atiyah will continue their participation in the Saudi national team camp, based on Coach Donis’s request.
This action comes in accordance with the tournament regulations, which allow for the replacement of any player listed in the final roster up to “24” hours before the Saudi national team’s first match in case of injury preventing them from playing in the tournament matches. The regulations also permit the replacement of an injured goalkeeper at any time during the tournament participation period.
It is worth mentioning that the Green Falcons are in Group H of the FIFA World Cup 2026, alongside the national teams of Spain, Uruguay, and Cape Verde.
