The Saudi star Saud Abdulhamid will participate with the French team Lens in the match against Belgian Club Brugge next Wednesday at 10:00 PM, as part of the third round of the UEFA Champions League. This will be the player’s second appearance with his team after his debut in the match against Portuguese Sporting Lisbon last Tuesday in the prestigious European tournament, where he became the first Saudi player in history to participate in one of the most prestigious football competitions. No Saudi player has previously played in the tournament, as the Saudi star Osama Hawsawi only sat on the bench for Anderlecht in the UEFA Champions League in 2012 without participating in that match.
Right-back Saud Abdulhamid was the first Saudi player to successfully score the first goal in the history of the UEFA Europa League when he scored while wearing the Roma jersey against Sporting Braga, thus writing his name in European stadiums as the first to score and participate, especially in the UEFA Champions League.
