Manchester City lost their friendly match against Italian side Inter Milan on penalties (3-1), after the regular time ended in a 1-1 draw, in the first match for Italian Enzo Maresca as the team’s coach, succeeding Spanish Pep Guardiola.
City took the lead in the 14th minute through young Devin Mubama after a pass from Antoine Semenyo, before Inter equalized with a goal from Frenchman Benjamin Pavard.
The match saw exchanged chances between the two teams, with the post and crossbar denying City players from scoring in the second half, before Inter clinched the match from the penalty spot.
This match is part of both teams’ preparations for the new season, while Maresca faces the challenge of leading City after Guardiola’s era, which saw the club crowned with 20 titles.
