حمّل لاعب الأهلي والمنتخب السعودي السابق عبدالله سليمان، الجهاز الفني للفريق الأهلاوي جانباً من مسؤولية خسارة «القلعة» لقب كأس القارات الثلاث، مشيراً إلى أن الأسلوب الفني الذي ظهر به الفريق، إلى جانب التشكيلة والتغييرات التي أجريت خلال المواجهة، أسهمت في فقدان الأهلي هويته داخل الملعب.
وقال سليمان لـ«عكاظ» عقب خسارة الأهلي أمام ماميلودي صنداونز الجنوب أفريقي: «من أبرز أسباب الخسارة أسلوب المدرب الذي أفقد الفريق هويته، إضافة إلى عدم البدء بالتشكيلة المناسبة للمباراة، ثم اختتام المواجهة بتغييرات غير منطقية».
وأضاف: «هل يعقل استبدال سعيد باعطية، وهو من أفضل عناصر الفريق أداءً في المباراة؟ كما أن وجود جالينو على مقاعد البدلاء منذ البداية يثير الاستغراب، ثم يتم إشراكه لاحقاً في مركز الظهير».
وأوضح سليمان أن ما يحدث للفريق لا يرتبط بمباراة واحدة فقط، وقال: «بالتأكيد هناك أسباب تراكمية أثرت في الفريق؛ فعندما يتم تغيير المدرب قبل انطلاق الدوري بأسبوع، ويرحل اثنان من أفضل عناصر الفريق من حيث الخبرة والتأثير، ثم يتم جلب بدلاء لا يوازون ما كان يقدمه الراحلون من أداء وخبرة، فمن الطبيعي أن ينعكس ذلك على مستوى الفريق وهويته».
وشدد لاعب الأهلي السابق على ضرورة معالجة ملف التعاقدات، مضيفاً: «الأهلي يحتاج إلى تصحيح أخطاء التعاقدات الأخيرة كافة، وإعادة تقييم احتياجات الفريق بصورة دقيقة، بما يضمن استقطاب عناصر قادرة على صناعة الفارق وإعادة التوازن الفني للفريق».
وأشار سليمان إلى أن المرحلة القادمة تتطلب مراجعة فنية شاملة، والاستفادة من إمكانات اللاعبين في مراكزهم التي يستطيعون من خلالها تقديم أفضل مستوياتهم، مؤكداً أن المباريات الحاسمة تحتاج إلى وضوح في النهج الفني واختيار العناصر المناسبة منذ البداية، بعيداً عن التجارب التي قد تكلف الفريق الكثير.
وكان الأهلي قد ودّع منافسات كأس القارات للأندية «إنتركونتيننتال» بعد خسارته أمام ماميلودي صنداونز بنتيجة 2-1، في المواجهة التي أقيمت مساء السبت على ملعب لوفتس فيرسفيلد بمدينة بريتوريا، ليتوج بطل أفريقيا بلقب كأس القارات الثلاث، فيما انتهى مشوار الأهلي، بطل آسيا، في البطولة.
Former Al-Ahli and Saudi national team player Abdullah Suleiman held the coaching staff of the Al-Ahli team partly responsible for the loss of the “Castle” in the three-continent Cup, pointing out that the playing style displayed by the team, along with the lineup and the substitutions made during the match, contributed to Al-Ahli losing its identity on the field.
Suleiman told “Okaz” following Al-Ahli’s loss to South Africa’s Mamelodi Sundowns: “One of the main reasons for the loss is the coach’s style, which has stripped the team of its identity, in addition to not starting with the appropriate lineup for the match, and then concluding the match with illogical substitutions.”
He added: “Is it reasonable to substitute Saeed Ba’athia, who was one of the best performers on the team in the match? Also, having Galeno on the bench from the start is puzzling, and then he is later brought in to play as a full-back.”
Suleiman clarified that what is happening to the team is not related to just one match, saying: “There are certainly cumulative reasons that have affected the team; when the coach is changed a week before the league starts, and two of the best experienced and influential players leave, and then substitutes are brought in who do not match the performance and experience of those who left, it is natural that this will reflect on the team’s level and identity.”
The former Al-Ahli player emphasized the need to address the contracting issues, adding: “Al-Ahli needs to correct all the mistakes of recent contracts and reassess the team’s needs accurately, ensuring the recruitment of players capable of making a difference and restoring the team’s technical balance.”
Suleiman pointed out that the upcoming phase requires a comprehensive technical review and the utilization of players’ capabilities in positions where they can deliver their best performances, stressing that decisive matches require clarity in the technical approach and the selection of suitable players from the start, away from experiments that could cost the team dearly.
Al-Ahli had exited the Intercontinental Club Cup after losing to Mamelodi Sundowns with a score of 2-1 in the match held on Saturday evening at Loftus Versfeld Stadium in Pretoria, crowning the African champions with the title of the three-continent Cup, while Al-Ahli’s journey, the Asian champion, in the tournament came to an end.
