أكد الإسباني جولين لوبيتيغي، مدرب المنتخب القطري، جاهزية المنتخب لخوض مواجهة البحرين، مساء غد (الخميس)، في مستهل مشواره ضمن منافسات المجموعة الثانية في بطولة كأس الخليج «خليجي 27»، التي تستضيفها المملكة العربية السعودية خلال الفترة من 23 سبتمبر إلى 6 أكتوبر 2026.
وقال لوبيتيغي خلال المؤتمر الصحفي الذي يسبق المواجهة المهمة: «البطولة تحظى بأهمية كبيرة، وقد استعددنا بصورة جيدة، ونحن متحمسون لتقديم أفضل مستوى ممكن، وندرك أننا سنواجه المنتخب البحريني حامل اللقب».
وأضاف: «نبدأ قصة جديدة في هذه البطولة، ونعلم جيداً أن المواجهة أمام المنتخب البحريني مهمة للغاية، فهو منتخب يتمتع بجودة عالية ويُعد من المنتخبات القوية، وقد سبق له التتويج باللقب مرتين. ندرك كل هذه التفاصيل، وسنبذل قصارى جهدنا لتحقيق أفضل نتيجة ممكنة».
وتابع مدرب المنتخب القطري: «المستويات تبدو متقاربة بين جميع المنتخبات، والجميع يملك حظوظاً في المنافسة، وتركيزنا في الوقت الحالي ينصب على الظهور بالمستوى المأمول وتقديم أفضل ما لدينا في هذه البطولة».
من جانبه، شدد محمود أبو ندى، حارس المرمى، على أهمية تحقيق نتيجة إيجابية في بداية المشوار، وقال: «من المهم تحقيق نتيجة إيجابية في لقاء البداية، وكأس الخليج من البطولات المهمة، والمباراة لن تكون سهلة، ونأمل أن نكون في أعلى درجات التركيز».
وأضاف أبو ندى: «جميع المنتخبات مرشحة للمنافسة على اللقب، والحظوظ متساوية فيما بينها، ونتطلع إلى تقديم المستوى الذي يليق بالمنتخب القطري في هذه البطولة».
Spanish coach Julen Lopetegui confirmed the readiness of the Qatari national team to face Bahrain tomorrow evening (Thursday) in the opening match of their journey in Group B of the Gulf Cup “Gulf 27,” which is hosted by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia from September 23 to October 6, 2026.
During the press conference preceding the important match, Lopetegui said: “The tournament is of great importance, and we have prepared well. We are excited to deliver the best possible performance, and we know we will be facing the defending champion, the Bahraini national team.”
He added: “We are starting a new story in this tournament, and we are well aware that the match against the Bahraini national team is extremely important, as they are a high-quality team and one of the strong contenders, having previously won the title twice. We understand all these details, and we will do our utmost to achieve the best possible result.”
The Qatari coach continued: “The levels seem close among all the teams, and everyone has a chance to compete. Our focus right now is on performing at the expected level and giving our best in this tournament.”
For his part, goalkeeper Mahmoud Abu Nida emphasized the importance of achieving a positive result at the start of their journey, saying: “It is important to achieve a positive result in the opening match, as the Gulf Cup is one of the important tournaments, and the match will not be easy. We hope to be at our highest level of concentration.”
Abu Nida added: “All teams are contenders for the title, and the chances are equal among them. We look forward to delivering a performance that befits the Qatari national team in this tournament.”
