The names of artists Mohamed Ramadan and Ahmed Fawkes have returned to the spotlight after the former congratulated the latter on his engagement, before extending an artistic offer for him to participate in his new series “Ashmawy,” which is set to be aired during the Ramadan drama season of 2027. This move has reignited questions about the nature of their relationship and the possibility of overcoming past disagreements.

An Invitation Opening the Door to Artistic Reconciliation

Ramadan posted a message on his Facebook account congratulating Fawkes on his engagement, wishing him a successful marriage and peace of mind. He also used the phrase “Kafara and prison for the tough guys,” referring to Fawkes’ previous experience with prison.

Ramadan expressed his desire to renew collaboration with Fawkes, inviting him to be a guest of honor in “Ashmawy,” noting that his presence would be an addition to the work, although Fawkes has not yet announced his position regarding the offer.

Disagreements Resurface

The series “We Are the Students,” which aired in 2011, brought the two artists together in a single artistic experience, featuring Mohamed Nagaty, Reem Al-Baroudi, Donia Abdel Aziz, Nermeen Maher, Sawsan Badr, Madeleine Tabar, and Naglaa Badr.

After the experience concluded, rumors circulated about a disagreement between Ramadan and Fawkes, as the latter had previously expressed in a television interview his refusal to work with Ramadan, making the new invitation a point of interest, especially since it comes nearly 15 years after their previous collaboration.

Despite Ramadan’s initiative, the current nature of their relationship remains unclear, and no official announcement has been made confirming the end of the disagreement or Fawkes’ acceptance of the invitation, leaving their artistic reunion as a possibility awaiting resolution.

Details of the Series “Ashmawy”

On another note, Mohamed Ramadan continues filming his scenes for the new series titled “Ashmawy,” which is scheduled to be aired in the upcoming Ramadan drama season of 2027, following his absence from Ramadan drama since presenting “Jaafar Al-Omda” in 2023.

The series stars Bassam Samra, Yousra El Lozy, Esaad Younes, Essam El Sakka, Intisar, Walid Fawaz, Mohamed Abdel Hafiz, Mohsen Mansour, and Jessica Hossam El Din, along with a guest appearance by Mohamed Sami. The work is written by Mohamed Ismail Amin, directed by Peter Mimi, and produced by Sadiq Al-Sabah.
